The ABC's of Baby Development

Whether you're a new parent or an experienced parent, Baby Development 101 is a required course for us all. Knowing how a baby grows - from a tiny baby in your arms, to the squirming, squealing bundle of joy on your lap, to the crawling, climbing, running little toddler who always seems to run away from you instead of towards you, helps you understand what's going on in this exciting little brain and body of his.

This section covers the Developmental Milestones that Baby usually reaches and masters at certain stages of her growth. Though all babies progress according to their own individual schedules, the Department of Health has set aside these benchmarks that parents can watch for to help you enjoy the growth and development of your baby.

This section also introduces you to the concept of Infant Stimulation. Infant Stimulation is a program designed to encourage and enhance Baby's total growth through interactive moments with a loving caregiver. The program described in this section is based on Dr. Susan Ludington-Hoe and Susan K. Golant's book "How to Have a Smarter Baby: The Infant Stimulation Program for Enhancing Your Baby's Natural Development." I discovered the book when my first born daughter was two months old, and I have used Dr. Hoe and Ms. Golant's program as well as many other similar activities in bringing up my children ever since.

Finally, this section also includes suggested activities in a regular Infant Curriculum. If you have ever faced your lovely baby one sunny/rainy/windy/snowy morning and wondered "What can we do today?", here is a calendar full of fun-filled things to do with him!
